Back from vacation.

I am back from my trip to siliconrose's lovely lovely wedding.

While there are many things I could and may yet say, my thought of the moment is this:

Even assuming I was able to remove a large portion of my skull and attached flesh and have it remain alive off of my head for a period of days and require no special reattachment to put back on, how did I see INSIDE my own skull to install the electrical outlets?

Well... I'm back home.

Um, wow is my work schedule messed up. I will post the two weeks of it I have later; I know one or two of you (jameel) have been looking for me for various purposes, so you can see when I'm available.

I'll also see about posting a vacation report. Depends on how I feel and how tired I am.

I am alive.

This is perhaps to the disappointment of some, but such is life.

Vacation was actually quite enjoyable. Being away from work for a week is always enjoyable, of course, but I couldn't have asked for better company. Hanging out with tigerphoenix was nothing but fun, and teaching her children Munchkin and D&D was quite nice as well.

As usual, I have a lot of thoughts rattling around in my head, but when I sit down to do a post my mind goes blank. Stupid mind.

I've been doing a lot of reading, lately, specifically the manga of Ken Akamatsu. This happened because I picked up Negima! on a whim at the bookstore -- it's just released, and for you manga lovers, pick it up; it's a great read, and Del Ray did a very thorough job of translation, including maintaining honorifics and translating sound effects -- it makes a huge difference. Negima! is hilarious. That being the case, I went back to earlier works -- A.I. Love You, which is a respectable first outing (it was Akamatsu-sensei's first project, and it shows, but is still good), and Love Hina. I finally understand whatr Love Hina is so popular. It's damn good.

I'm waiting to hear on the research assistant position -- still. I do have a phone interview tomorrow, and I plan to ace that. I have yet to see any mail from the Bureau of Labor and Industry, so there may be some hope that Step-by-Step isn't appealing the appeal -- and yes, they can do that, as I understand it, despite having failed to even present themselves at the last hearing.

It's funny... I was offline for days, and yet coming back, nothing at all has changed.

Back to Love Hina.

tigerphoenix is on her way home, safely we hope, despite the snow. I'll miss her. This week has been absolute hell, but is starting to improve ever-so-slightly. At the least, I have a new monitor to replace my old dead one. I need to remember to send in for the $30 rebate, which I desperately need.

I'm back from Spring Break.

We're thieving DSL from the apartment across the hall. It's slow and not the best solution, but I can't complain!

Hey.

Where have I been? More like, where am I still. The short story is that for the past five weeks, and probably extending into the next two months if not more, Verizon has refused to provide my apartment with the DSL service I am supposed to have. I can't check e-mail, chat, or read LJ.

Well, I made an exception this one time, because I thought it was necessary.

Just so you know, I'm all right. The plane that went down was nowhere near here. We haven't had a breath of local excitement all day.

I'll be back for good as soon as I can. I can't make outgoing phone calls, but I'd be more than happy to take incoming. Ask Ellen for my number. I don't want to post it here.
