More memage
Taken from [livejournal.com profile] elf_fu, it's the classic five question meme.

1 - Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 - I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 - You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 - You'll include this explanation.
5 - You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

Nothing new under the sun, folks.

1.) There's a saying about a story, that the main character should get what they need and not what they want. In the story of your life, do you think that you've gotten what you needed, or what you wanted?

God help me, I hope my story isn't over. I'm sure I haven't gotten what I've wanted, and the only way I've gotten what I've needed is if I was an absolutely terrible person in a previous life and am getting the serious karmic backlash I've earned in this reincarnation.

2.) Do you believe that happiness is a state of being, or a thing to obtain?

It's both a journey and a destination. It's a state to achieve, but once in it, you need to keep walking the path, because as soon as you stop you stagnate and the happiness becomes stale.

3.) Just how many memes DO you have on that list?

The list of memes to do had two items on it, counting this one. You see how fast I got to it.

4.) Do you think we'll ever remember to get this box to the post office so we can send it to you? Because I'm wondering that myself.

Probably not. And if you do, it will get lost in the mail.

5.) One moment in your life that you would go back and willingly put on repeat to live it over and over again?

I... don't know. Maybe it's just my mood right now, but all I can recall are the things my mind puts on repeat to depress and terrify me.

Walking off the plane to meet [livejournal.com profile] tigerphoenix in person for the first time was pretty good, though.

Because it is a light day at work
So here is a meme I was supposed to do like 3 weeks ago and I have forgotten all the details except that six icons got selected and I have to explain them. S'yeah, here it is.

This was drawn ages and ages ago from my senior picture, believe it or not, by Mookie of Dominic Deegan fame. A friend (at the time) paid for it as part of a commission-thing he was doing. I was only peripherally aware of all this, and stumbled onto the comic independently much later. Funny things, coincidences.

So Phantom Brave, one of my favorite games, has a random dungeon system in which every so often a floor would be generated with a special condition. The effect of THIS particular floor was that everything was either confused or asleep, I forget which. Really, the text just amuses me. And it has a Prinny.

Ruri from Martian Successor Nadesico: quiet, serious, deadpan, and moe. Called the entire rest of the crew idiots.

Vegeta was always my favorite Dragon Ball Z character. I've always had a nonironic love for the show and the character in particular. So here is Majin Vegeta, enjoying the hell out of himself as he blows up innocent bystanders and spectators.

FiReNoMo was [livejournal.com profile] amberdine's idea. The thought runs thusly: NaNoWriMo's goal is 50,000 words, but the typical length of a genre fiction piece is twice that, 100,000. Let's make December into Finish the Rest of the Novel Month. As the icon makes clear, I won.

Good ol' Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

You scored 18 Intelligence, 12 Wisdom, and 5 Charisma!

All stats are based on the original D&D system of 3-18. 3 being
tragically weak and 18 being olympic level ability. Odds are you will
be more towards the middle for most things (the middle being 10-11), as
that is where most people should be. If you scored above 18 in any
skill, I highly suggest you go back and read the directions closer.
Especially if you scored above an 18 intelligence, you need to take the
test over and only answer ONCE on the first page. Taken properly, it is
not possible to get above an 18 on any stat, unless you' over 70 years
old. Get the other half of your stats at this companion test.

I am open to suggestions for improving this test. Please message
me if you think I am not taking something into account, or have any
questions for how I calculated scores.

Because [livejournal.com profile] ehzoterik tagged me, and I've got nothing better to do while I wait for the girl upstairs to stop showering:

Explain your LiveJournal name and its meaning. When you're done, tag as many people as there are letters in your name.

In my very earliest writings, I, of course, had dragons. In the multiverse this writing spanned, the most potent good dragons and their evil counterparts formed organizations known as Circles, each composed of seven dragons. The good dragons consisted of Life, Light, Time, Love, Beauty... the evil ones were Death, Darkness, Despair, Space... I honestly don't remember them all. In any case the hero of the group was really the Dragon of Life. After I abandoned my initial writing like the crap it was, I retooled the stories once again, but I kept the same divisions of dragons and the concept of titled dragons being of immense power, and again the hero remained Wraith, the Dragon of Life. At the time my own identification with dragons was also strengthening, so I vaguely took the title on for myself as well. When I finally decided to create a livejournal, it seemed the most distinctive way to identify myself.

Screw tagging people, though, I'll never get 12 people to do this.

I got tagged by [livejournal.com profile] readnofurther, and if I don't do it she'll beg and whine, so I suppose I had better.

So the rules are, once you've been tagged you have to write a blog with 6 weird things/habits about yourself. In the end you need to list 6 other people to tag and list their names. Not that I think anyone I tag will do it, but oh well.

1. I have to have my bedsheets lined up just so. I need to have the top of the sheet at the top of the bed, usually folded over the comforter. This is only while I'm sleeping; awake and about I can leave my bed a total disaster area, so long as I get it just so when I go to bed. This annoys the heck out of [livejournal.com profile] tigerphoenix.

2. I always need something to multitask with. When I don't have something to read, listen to, or play when I'm walking, eating, or any other activity which doesn't take up all my processing power, I get incredibly restless and fidgety. I've been known to spend longer looking for a book to read in the bathroom than the bathroom trip itself would actually take.

3. I alphabetized my Magic cards. Which is to say, separated by color, then by rarity, and then alphabetized them in stacks.

4. I'm extremely picky about my sandwiches. I have certain rules I follow for the best taste, and it generally rewards me well. For example, if making a sandwich with turkey, unless turkey is the only meat on it, the mayonaise goes on the bottom slice of bread, followed immediately by the turkey. If ham is part of the sandwich, it should be the topmost layer of meat, followed by the cheese. Pickles should always be drained of all possible juice, after which they go on top of the cheese, followed by the mustard-slathered top layer of bread.

5. I start every single day with a shower. If I don't, I feel disgusting, gummy, and greasy the entire rest of the day, till I give up and finally do take a shower.

6. I hoard. I keep boxes, bags, old documents, old bills... everything I think I could have even the smallest and most miniscule chance of needing or using again.

Not that I expect anyone to do these things, but tag:
[livejournal.com profile] cyfis
[livejournal.com profile] kaote
[livejournal.com profile] dramatica
[livejournal.com profile] tigerkitty
[livejournal.com profile] ehzoterik

Proof. Also, look at my scored-higher-than percentages.

Outcast Genius
69 % Nerd, 65% Geek, 73% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.

Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society
wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent
and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the
world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it
can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their
friends combined in that subject).

Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being
outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many
other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to
eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast
Genius.

Congratulations!

I am a memesheep.
Name five fictional characters you would have sex with, then tag more people to do it, too. Be sure to mention who tagged you when posting it. (That being [livejournal.com profile] ehzoterik and [livejournal.com profile] tigerphoenix.)

1. Lenneth Valkyrie from Valkyrie Profile.
2. Raven, from the Teen Titans.
3. Paine, from Final Fantasy X2.

There's something about strong, silent, distant girls with troubled pasts which turns me on extremely. Mmmm, strong girls.

4. Tenjou Utena. She was also totally hot. Pink hair and long legs? Yes please.

Um... big tie for the fifth here. KOS-MOS from Xenosaga loses because I already have three girls like her on the list. Rikku from FFX2 loses because I already have a X2 girl on the list. So it's gotta be...

5. Motoko, from Love Hina. At the end of the main story, but before the epilogue. Mmmmmmmmmmmm, nice.

Because Jess roared at me..
Years role-playing: I think it's nine. It might be eight. But I'm pretty sure it's nine this year.

Least favorite character: I don't have one, although some are harder to play than others.

Favorite characters: Morgan, because he's easiest to play. Michael, because he's just fun!

Male or female characters: All but one are male.

Oldest character: Drake, for all three interpretations of the question.

Newest character: Michael.

Most popular character: None of my characters are popular.

Character you've never played: The ones [livejournal.com profile] tigerphoenix picks up!

Which character of yours would be most likely to...

Jump off a bridge: Yes.

Get drunk and pass out: Aya, if Carolyn was egging her on. Sentence, if it was a bad day.

Kill somebody in a very unorthodox way: Drake. Morgan refuses to kill unless he has to, and Michael hasn't started building doomsday devices yet.

Get married: Yes?

Be far too hyper for their own good: Michael. "I'M ALMOST ON THE SECRET OF FROTHY PUDDING AND MY CHOCOBO IS AWESOME SPAZ SPAZ SPAZ!"

Be raped: Aya. Been there, done that. Wouldn't be so easy to do it again today.

Get lost and refuse to ask for directions: Morgan I'm-not-lost! Knight and Michael Yay-an-adventure! Valkonan

Get lung cancer: Sentence.

Star in a horror movie: Morgan, the victorious hero; Michael, the perky kid who the villains underestimate, or the one who accidentally unleased the horror in the first place.

Star in a whore movie: Ew, no.

Star in a video game: Orion. Jedi franchise power!

Make the world a better place: Aya, because she makes music. Most of the others focus on keeping the world from getting worse.

Have a torrid gay love affair: Aya.

Relate each word to a character of yours:

Love: Morgan

Hate: Sentence

Money: Morgan "Scrooge McDuck" Knight.

Seduction: Aya

Lies: Aya.

Tragedy: Aya

Manipulation: Drake. He's a parent after all.

Violence: Morgan.

Politics: Orion. Stupid Jedi Council.

Fire: Morgan

Ice: Sentence

Would you ever...

Play a prostitute: Naw.

Play a musician: Yep.

Play a pilot: I might.

Play a homosexual: Probably not, though bisexual I have.

Play a pedophile: Ew. No.

Play a politician: Sure.

Create a character for the sole purpose of smut: Nope.

Play a character who commits incest: No thank you!

Stability results were very low which suggests you are extremely worrying, insecure, emotional, and anxious.

Orderliness results were moderately low which suggests you are, at times, overly flexible, improvised, and fun seeking at the expense of reliability, work ethic, and long term accomplishment.

Extraversion results were high which suggests you are overly talkative, outgoing, sociable and interacting at the expense too often of developing your own individual interests and internally based identity.

trait snapshot:
open, tough, irritable, worrying, does not like to be alone, craves attention, low self control, emotionally sensitive, interacting, sad, very social, aggressive, prefer organized to unpredictable, dependent, social chameleon, suspicious, values the heart over the mind, likes large parties, outgoing, likes to make fun, likes to fit in, mildly phobic, vain, makes friends easily, enjoys leadership, clingy, rash

Just because it's going around, here is the Meme of Truth and Blasphemy. Ten true things, five false things. Guess which five are false.

1. I was nearly expelled from school for violence, disobedience, and general uncontrollability.

2. I volunteered at a shooting range to get community service hours for high school.

3. I once hit my head so hard against a wall, it left a permanent indentation.

4. I read the Hobbit when I was nine, but I didn't get around to reading the actual Lord of the Rings books till I was twenty-one.

5. I had no knowledge of anime until I started watching Sailor Moon.

6. I have never beaten Final Fantasy VII.

7. I was baptized as a child.

8. I first got into roleplaying with AD&D 2nd edition, only expanding out into other systems such as White Wolf when I heard Wizards of the Coast bought out TSR.

9. Despite being a reasonably popular and normal child in my youth, I nevertheless spent many recesses peddling imaginary potions to my classmates.

10. My elementary school was built on the site of an old waste dump. We were always told, "If you see black stuff coming out of the ground, don't touch it."

11. I despised the entire concept of Harry Potter until my mother got me the first book for Christmas. Within a week I had bought all the ones that were out at the time and read them avidly.

12. I didn't see the uncut version of Transformers: The Movie for years. I didn't realize there was swearing in it until I was in college.

13. I have a scar on my neck from running face-first into a car tailpipe was I was young.

14. I sincerely believe the coolest noise on Earth is the sound of twenty-thousand volts of electricity striking a toy church in a lightning simulation.

15. To the best of my knowledge, only four girls have ever considered me attractive, and two of them don't count.
