Last night I had a dream which I remember very few details of except a pervasive and insecapable knowledge of having lost my keys. This went through the entire span of the dream, significant and unsettling enough that when I woke up I had to triple-check my pants just to make sure they were there.

Later, on my way to a doctor's appointment, I remembered the dream and slapped my pants to check if they were in my pocket. They were not! Shock and horror engulfed me for the brief moment that it took me to realize that they were in the ignition.

I am so uncool.

*falls down on the floor laughing*

That's so terrible, yet I find it so easy to relate to!

It would not be so aggravating if my body did not react so strongly to these things. "He's missing his keys! Heart, skip a beat! Adrenal glands, open floodgates! Oh, false alarm, eh, the parasympathetic system'll clean it all up eventually."

"Yeah, don't worry, it'll only cost SOME of the body's immune function and send it to a SLIGHTLY earlier grave"
