If you want to change the policy, change the fucking policy. Don't decide it doesn't work after I do the same thing I always do, change it, and then yell at me for not doing the new thing.

Fucking assholes.

As a qualified physician, I'd have to say your bosses are suffering from what we doctors call 'stupid brain.' It's quite common among upper-management types. My advice: drink a milkshake and escape into your own mind.
