Dragon of Life

Tiiiired.
I'm hitting a rough phase of life, if a reasonably fun one: On top of usual work, Halloween time brings with it seasonal employment at a haunted house. This week is when it starts opening on Sunday, so I wake up early on Fridays, go straight from work to the haunted house till eleven or so, then home to crash briefly. Really, that means I won't have a day off till the 8th or so. Woo, tired.

But it IS fun, working there, and I DO get paid on top of that. Otherwise I wouldn't do it. But I have to bitch about things that annoy me.

I took the 13th and 14th off, to prepare for the WOTLK drop. I have no shame about this.

Things I'd like to do:

Finish watching Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. I didn't get too far in because [livejournal.com profile] tigerphoenix complained that squealing Japanese schoolgirls were giving her a headache. Still, I want to pick it back up; I can't help but like a series in which the heroine rhetorically asks her weapon to perform a task, only to have the weapon cheerfully respond off-script, "All right." Even if I am given to understand that the capable English voice acting becomes Engrish later on.

Overcome Hype Aversion and pick up Death Note.

Pick up more One Piece. I started in on some thanks to my own idiocy the other day in forgetting both my DS and a book to read, a situation which calls for me hitting the bookstore in Union Station to avoid *insanity*. And so far I like it. It's entertaining. On a side note, why do the first volumes of manga always seem so *long* compared to later ones?

Pick up Hayate the Combat Butler. I just hear good things about it.

Actually beat Disgaea DS. Man, for all that it's a faithful port (sans most voice acting and with small music changes, which is fine, they put a PS2 game on the DS!), they really dropped the ball in not including a quicksave feature. I read an article which said such features should be STANDARD on portable games if not ALL games, and I agree. It's irritating to be on floor 9 of the Item World and then arrive at work, forcing me to burn an exit item to save. But, oh well. It's frustrating, not so gamebreaking that I refuse to play it.

And now, to lunch.
