Tiiiired.
I'm hitting a rough phase of life, if a reasonably fun one: On top of usual work, Halloween time brings with it seasonal employment at a haunted house. This week is when it starts opening on Sunday, so I wake up early on Fridays, go straight from work to the haunted house till eleven or so, then home to crash briefly. Really, that means I won't have a day off till the 8th or so. Woo, tired.

But it IS fun, working there, and I DO get paid on top of that. Otherwise I wouldn't do it. But I have to bitch about things that annoy me.

I took the 13th and 14th off, to prepare for the WOTLK drop. I have no shame about this.

Things I'd like to do:

Finish watching Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. I didn't get too far in because [livejournal.com profile] tigerphoenix complained that squealing Japanese schoolgirls were giving her a headache. Still, I want to pick it back up; I can't help but like a series in which the heroine rhetorically asks her weapon to perform a task, only to have the weapon cheerfully respond off-script, "All right." Even if I am given to understand that the capable English voice acting becomes Engrish later on.

Overcome Hype Aversion and pick up Death Note.

Pick up more One Piece. I started in on some thanks to my own idiocy the other day in forgetting both my DS and a book to read, a situation which calls for me hitting the bookstore in Union Station to avoid *insanity*. And so far I like it. It's entertaining. On a side note, why do the first volumes of manga always seem so *long* compared to later ones?

Pick up Hayate the Combat Butler. I just hear good things about it.

Actually beat Disgaea DS. Man, for all that it's a faithful port (sans most voice acting and with small music changes, which is fine, they put a PS2 game on the DS!), they really dropped the ball in not including a quicksave feature. I read an article which said such features should be STANDARD on portable games if not ALL games, and I agree. It's irritating to be on floor 9 of the Item World and then arrive at work, forcing me to burn an exit item to save. But, oh well. It's frustrating, not so gamebreaking that I refuse to play it.

And now, to lunch.
Current Mood: tired

We have a cornfield maze. I was in it, briefly. Believe it or not, it terrifies the hell out of people when a 6'2" guy in my particular hat and coat combination leaps out of the corn brandishing a wooden stake. Go figure.

I know you mentioned this before, but what are you playing in the haunted house? Is it outdoors, indoors? If they are big enough to pay you, they must be big enough to have a website. Link it?

And, of course, I have forgotten your manga recommendation already, so now I feel stupid.

Heh, you took off Nov 13-14 as a religious holiday...

I play creepy-big-guy-in-all-black murderer sort, wherever they need me. I don't have the website link handy at the moment.

Maybe you don't, but you can still offer some clue, like "It's in Virginia, just South of the Beltway," or a name, or something.

Do you have fake scars, or something? I can't believe that your mug is terrifying in its un-enhanced state...

silly question- have you played final fantasy (12?) for the DS?
does it ever stop being lame? I'm stuck in one of the early tutorial levels and it's completely stupid and so far, I see none of the shine of a regular final fantasy game

Revenant Wings? I haven't; I'm waiting to actually complete FFXII before I do so.

Death Note = totally worth it. Trust me; I want to kill all the screaming fangirls really hard. Too many fantwinks ruin the series. Also look up Darker than Black, if you haven't heard of that one. Randy mentioned it to me. I ended up watching all 20some episodes (24 or 26, can't remember). Amusing to note that there is one Death Note reference in Darker than Black, and a few cracks at the anime industry in general, in an anime.

ps: Chrono Trigger = coming to DS. Did you know? SO EXCITING!!!
