We attacked Civilizaton the board game last night for a few hours, and made it all the way to the medieval era. It basically turned into a massive war between the Americas and the rest of the world, which only played out for a couple of turns before we had to call it a night. It was fun. I'd love to get a full game of it going sometime, but the time involved is just massive.

Speaking of really long games, I really need to pick up the OOTS game.

Our cat is still on antibiotics, and I've been on the job of giving it to him this week. I tried the "hold him down, put it in his mouth, and make him swallow" technique, but I couldn't get him to open his mouth. Then I tried hiding it in his wet cat food, which worked once, but after that he seemed to lose interest in said cat food.

Then I discovered that if I put it in my hand with some dry cat food and offer it to him, he'll take it.

He's such a good cat.

The Order of the Stick board game?

Personally, I hated it with a flaming passion. Caveat: I don't like cooperative-competitive games, games where you have to cooperate with others to succeed and yet must also screw each other over to win. I nearly walked out on an Order of the Stick game because no one would support me in battle, and so I was just screwed.

I know that reaction isn't good gamesmanship -- but I just won't play that game anymore.

Fair enough. ^.^ I've only played one game of it so far, but I enjoyed it immensely. I started out incredibly behind the curve myself and got very little support (I was playing Roy), but I traded in treasure for shticks and became a juggernaut.

The group I was playing with at the time generally refused to help me in any game ever unless it was absolutely cooperative. They usually ganged up on me. Come to think of it, so does my current group. Apparently I have a reputation for being absolutely vicious in games.
