My bane of gaming and skype and video is a good microphone. I would like to know what this shiny device is which you say is amazing. Unless it is sarcasm and then move along, move along.

That would be this sucker (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836709005). So far it's picking up the game TOO well, all the audio is redlining! I need to turn down the input volume on it!

I don't recommend it for your purposes. It's a conference call microphone. Get a headset, which is what we use. :)

Neither of which ever seem to emit any sort of good sound. One I purchased brand new and was useless out of the package.

I've been using the mic that is with the logitech web cam I got four years ago.

That's shameful. I will try to track down the name of what we use. We just got them at Best Buy, but they have been quite reliable.
