Last Saturday
tigerphoenix and I decided to actually get out of the damn house and go see some movies in theaters, something we've avoided doing since HP:HBP or so. Naturally, one of the movies we saw was Iron Man 2. I thought it was a good movie, if not a great one; good characterizations, good humor, all-around good stuff. I suppose my only complaint is that the action scenes didn't seem epic enough, compared to other superhero-level battles in other movies, original Iron Man included.
The movie of the day/week/year, though, was How to Train Your Dragon. By way of explanation, I'll say that the movie was released two months ago (to the day!), was down to one screen and three off-peak showings at the theater, and yet the theater was still half-full. Holy shit this was a good movie. I really can't express it any better.
June is going to be a better month for me than July; I have two four-day weekends and more generous telework (including one weekend where it's Friday and then Monday), plus a much easier issue calendar. May's averaged four days between issues, which meant one day between, tops, where I didn't have any to work on. June will run mostly 6 days between. Plus we all really hope that with the start of vacation season, volume will slow down and we can all get a chance to breathe; our unit has been running at top-crush-speed for a long time now.
Just gotta get to the weekend. Eyes on the prize.
