Perhaps irritated by our minor luck in recruiting people, or the changes made since he left the game, one of the ex-GMs of our WoW guild has taken to sending people (me) flaming PMs on our forums. Evidently the incident that pushed him over the edge was me advocating for a change in addons that I'd been advocating for some time now. Go figure.

Sadly for him, I have admin powers, including ban control.

It's not surprising -- this is the person who half the core members of the guild nearly /gquit when he seemed about to take over the actual functioning reins of the guild -- but it is depressing. Not for his loss, but for the loss of his partner, who was a pretty decent person and healer. Sadly, where one goes, so too shall go the other, I'm sure. Still, I never expected them to come back to WoW again anyway.

[livejournal.com profile] tigerphoenix was looking over my shoulder at my list of Minamimoto sound files, and saw one entitled "The world is garbage". "No wonder you like him," she said.

Been so busy, so I haven't read much.

If you're really struggling with your WoW guild, you're always welcome to reroll on my server. I know it's an unlikely option, but wanted to mention it to you. I would toss you some gold/bags, run through instances, etc, if you decided to at all.

Like I said, figure it's unlikely option, but wanted to throw it out there. Especially with the mount changes coming, though, it's not too terrible an idea. I mean, could always do the dk option, although we don't really need them, but I could get you in my guild as a social no matter need or not.

Actually, we've been recruiting and have come up with, among the dross, two cool people worth keeping (both of them healers?!), so considering us two tanks are guild-core to the XTREME, gives us the makeup to go do 10 mans again. So these changes have been positive for the most part... which I think is why said ex-GM is behaving like an ass, because he hates that we're getting along better now. ^.^

I love my Nazgrel characters too much to reroll with any seriousness on another server, I think. I've put too much time and energy into them, I couldn't just walk away, and I feel like I couldn't invest into another server enough time and effort to be a positive force for good there. Plus I can probably never do the DK option again, since my current DK is running around with Armageddon, and I think every other DK will be only a pale shadow of that from now on. ^.^

But I appreciate the offer!

The weird thing about WoW couples is that, in my experience, most of the time the girl always plays a healer of some sort. I don't know if that just means that girls are statistically more likely to play healers, some get badgered into it by their SOs, or what, but it seems a common trend.

It seems there is a slightly higher incidence of girls=healers as a rule... As for our ex-GM, she levelled Shadow but I gather she was always interested in playing a healer (though it led to the other ex-GM, the douche, attempting to rip me a new one for opening a "What's our plan to go raiding?" topic that explicitly stated "We need a healer but I'm not asking her to respec"...)

Um, hmm, though now that I think about it, most of the girls in our guild aren't healers.
