Last night we conducted a successful experiment in roleplaying; one of our friends joined us via webcam from halfway across the country.

Technologically, a simple thing, but nevertheless awesome in its execution.

The upshot of this session: Never cast Evard's Black Tentactles on the oily Pringles Man Chippendale. ^.^

Naw -- with four physical players present it's easier and more efficient just to do a video chat and set up the map etc. in person.

When Hurricane Ike took out power in Ohio for a few days, there were mutterings of doing a cell-phone conference call with some of the EVE gang and playing Traveller.
