NoNaNo
I won't be formally participating in NaNoWriMo this year. Aside from not having a novel to begin -- I really ought to FINISH THE ONES I'VE BEEN SITTING ON, bad me! -- I simply don't think I have the time or the motivation to do so. Pretty much 13 hours out of my day are spent working, preparing for work, or commuting -- that really doesn't leave much time or energy for me to spend writing.

I do, however, hope to ride myself in completing my works-in-progress more. I actually made an excellent start today, only to have a Word error destroy everything I'd written, with the backup file inexplicably corrupted. Nrgh. There's a lesson in trying there.

just me being egocentric here and talking about my own experience, but...
the more I try to make myself work on something I _meant_ to get done and ignoring the new ideas in my head, the more frustrated I get with myself.

so stuff sits in my drawer for months waiting for me.
But when I find myself _wanting_ to work on that thing, I'm much happier with my work.

I hope the writing is treating you well!

My own personal experience is that I'm a Newtonian body of work -- at rest, I tend to stay at rest, but when in motion, watch out, baby! So if I force myself to get started, it's much easier for me to continue.

Side note: Looking good in that picture. ^.^

thank you!
and I know what you mean about the motion thing. I've had more motion crafting in the last month than in the previous six total.
I finally understand the NaNo motivation. (too bad I don't write)

I'd say there's a lesson in saving more often there, but :P

Do whatever makes you feel happy, it's sort of the point of creative activity.

This version of Word is in all fairness reliable enough in its autosaves that up until now I had no reason to worry. I know this because it's so buggy and flawed in every other respect.
