Late raiding makes for tired me. Stupid Shade of Aran and our bad luck thereon. That just sucked. And man am I sick of my crappy gear on my lock. And annoyed that I got none of the tank drops from Moroes/Maiden/Opera/Curator I wanted. If I can just get three of them or so!

We had the Big Bad Wolf as our Opera boss for the first time. Man, that was fun. We downed him despite most of the members not quite knowing how to run away from him, and getting whacked -- I knew now! I ran like the freakin' Roadrunner, and as successfully!

Attumen dropped his reins. On a random roll, they went to the druid who joined recently. I'm kind of annoyed about that; so many people deserved it more. Oh well, random is random.

At least it's Friday! Better yet, it's PAYDAY Friday! That means it's a smoothie day -- there's a place in Union Station that makes awesome smoothies. Huge sizes, too, it's definitely a worthwhile expenditure. Even though most of my money is going towards paying off debts, I'm still allocating some for myself, of course. What's the point in earning if you can't enjoy it a little?

On that note, I picked up a DS. My library of games consists of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Brain Age 2, Rondo of Swords, and Hoshigami: Remix, all tucked away in my cute little Phantom Hourglass case. (MUCH easier and more convenient than hauling the actual game cases around in my bag.) [livejournal.com profile] tigerphoenix wants me to pick up one of the Pokemon games, as well... She also got me some armor that literally doubles the size of my DS, but will probably come in handy for protecting it.

Woot. Now if only this day was done.

Wishing really hard for a specific drop is a lost cause. It won't drop just to spite you. Aran is a relatively easy fight if your group doesn't blow each other up.

It isn't wishing so much as needing. The other alternative, given the lack of good tanking drops in heroics, being "run Kara till you got badges for the new stuff." Which given that I'm doing the same Kara runs on both my lock and my pally is unlikely to happen soon!

Um, let's see. We did three Shade runs, all of them complicated by having no interrupters. First Shade we lost a DPS real quick because he was new and didn't know how to manipulate Blizzard. Second one, Aran locked onto the other lock and nuked the hell out of him with three spells in a row during the first Flame Wreath. Third one someone walked INTO a flame wreath. We can down him, we just had a run of bad luck.

Amusingly, despite the lack of tank drops, I now have bitchin' heal set. Go go mail drops. :)

Jamie keeps wanting to buy a DS. It's been oh so tempting recently. He wants one for himself, and wants to buy both Pokemon games. Diamond and Pearl. Give me one so that we can both run around training pokemon and such. Then we want to get the Pokemon battle arena game for the Wii so that we can battle each other. lol!

I suggest: Final Fantasy 3, just to have it. Old school FF games are always worth it. I've also seen really rave review for Professor Layton and the Curious Village. That one is definitely on my list. I think you'd like it because it's very anime looking. Also, you might enjoy My Word Coach.

I wonder if Diamond/Pearl have net-based battles.

I think they can, it just takes getting all the way through the game once to manage it. Kind of dumb, but oh well. >.<

I think it's through WiFi connection, though. I still haven't figured out how to connect my DS to WiFi. The Wii didn't have a problem at all, but... The DS is kind of confusing.

Yeah, I need to figure that out...I think I'm just gonna hand mine to Dragon and say, "go to it."

That's love, baby.

You do it through the game in question, there'll be an option somewhere. The DS itself doesn't do that on its own.

Are you sure? This is why I say it's confusing, because...

The Wii has a new channel that I just downloaded called the Nintendo Channel. Through that, I discovered that I can download DS game demos. And to do that, I have to have my DS turned on and click the WiFi option or what have you from the main menu. Search for downloadable software? Then it connects to the Wii when it finds the signal or whatever. Downloads the demo. No game in the DS beforehand.

Or are you talking just with the Pokemon game? James and I have hooked up and played dueling Links through Phantom Hourglass before.

DS downloads aren't the same as DS game communications. I have a couple of games (like Phantom Hourglass) that have multiplayer setups. I believe that once you set it up once, the DS looks for that same network again later.

Shade is not supposed to have an aggro table, so a lot of his fight can suck really easily really quickly for no reason, depending on who he feels like throwing his arcane bolts at. The only reason to be disappointed in a Shade wipe if it was because someone moved on Flame Wreath. :)

Can we be disappointed if we wiped 3 times and couldn't clear him before bed, after tearing through everything up to that point easily?

Pff, 3 times is just getting started... try 10 or 12. :) Wipes happen, sometimes a lot. As long as you're thinking about what went wrong and are learning from them, you're moving ahead anyway. Hell, we still wipe on Kara trash if the right people aren't on or are just having a bad night.

Frankly, a lot of wipes can be prevented with a chat system if you're not already using one, so if no one has a Vent server (I have the extra computer, just need to upgrade my bandwidth and acquire the knowhow to set it up) people should at least be using Wowchat. Shade is entirely a coordination check and if people aren't communicating you're going to have way more wipes than you would otherwise.

I tried out Elite Beat Agents a bit. It is insane, possibly in a good way. Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright are probably ones you'll want, too.

The devil on my shoulder (that I can't rationalize indulging) is the PSP for its two Wipeout games; I love me some Wipeout. I'm not buying a system for two games, though.

If I could find those games, I would get them so quickly.
