I come to you all less of a man than I was.

Specifically, less one mole and a chunk of skin surrounding it. I visited the dermatologist on Wednesday, an appointment I'd been waiting six months for. He didn't mess around -- five minutes after he started looking at me, I was on my back getting drugged up. Whack, off came a mole in the middle of my torso -- actually, snip. Biopsy.

When I say hole, I mean hole. I mean *crater* which is obviously the result of losing my ENTIRE LAYER OF SKIN there. It's deep, it's ugly, and it clearly won't be healing any time soon. (Much as I might want it to.)

Quite a trip. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that the biopsy's normal, if you would?

You'll probably be fine... I have to go to a derm every 6 months to have my moles checked because my mom had skin cancer, and I have a shitload of moles on my back so I can't check 'em myself. The guy I see in NC is scalpel-happy, he takes moles off left and right. He took 6 off of my brother when he saw him the first time... I only had 2 taken, one from the center of my back and one from my butt. :P Better to be safe than sorry with those things!

Keeping some Neosporin and a bandaid on the site should do the trick. They make pain-killing Neosporin which is what I use for stuff like that that'll take a week or two to heal.

Yeah, ditto me from now on, especially to the back part. We're waiting for the biopsy results to see what else is gonna need to come off.

Luckily, working in a hospital means I can usually snag some supplies if I need to, like band-aids, and if I have any infection problems I can get 'em caught and treated quite promptly.
