Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes! I didn't respond individually, primarily due to an alarming trend in which I increasingly husband my free moments desperately in response to being out of control of my own destiny for half of every day, five days a week. I say alarming because it's led to vicious refusals on my parts to even so much as get out of the house on weekends. Thank god for weekly D&D sessions!
Anyway, life sucks. The commute this week has been hell, my knee and back are both hurting today (the knee is normal, and I do not know why; the back is not). I suspect I really need a new bed, my mattress isn't as good as it used to be, but we don't have the money to burn on one. Citizens Bank is still screwing me over: to my complete lack of astonishment, the advice every single representative I spoke to ("Just submit a dispute through the reporting bureau") did not work! Now I'm going to try some more extreme, and thus even less likely to work, measures. Work's been very busy, as I obtain more duties along with my promotion. That should settle down slightly, though, as we get a new training schedule. Up till now I've just been asking for stuff.
Asking for more work? Shock! No, really: there's some hope that time-in-grade requirements for promotion will be eliminated, and I'll be able to get another promotion sooner than next March. Which would be awesome. And my boss has basically said that I should be done with the necessary training for it all by summer's end, and the biggest problem I might run into is other people complaining that I'm advancing faster than they are (but it's their own fault, she specifically said. :D ). So more money? I'll take on some extra work for that.
Despite life sucking, I'm not doing too poorly, though. And that's an odd, odd thing to say, but a good one.
