Among the other, more-noticeable proclamations that Obama has made post-accession, he also reversed longstanding federal policy on information-dispersal and FOIA-related matters. Said policy is now to err on the side of releasing the information, rather than seeking legal course to deny those requests.
Good move. Good move, as far as my opinion counts for anything.
In fact, so far I've seen nothing but good moves reported -- closing Gitmo, ending tribunals... I'll admit the pay freeze for aides making over $100k is purely symbolic, but I think it's a fairly powerful symbol. Public perception of the government holds that any person in position to give themselves more money will do so, after all, deserved and proportionate or not.
So, day 2 and I have no complaints yet.
