Yes, that percentage is definitely too high, and this is the sort of thing that leads to rampant paranoia and suspicion. It erodes the image of the medical community and makes the actual disease seem like a lie.

The fact is, some people don't even need medication to cope. I'm one of them... When I was young, my parents overdosed me on Ritalin and made me into a zombie. Ever since then my enthusiasm for medication is way down. And you might expect me to have learning disabilities or problems or something... but here I am, about to knock off my third year of college. :)
