Take that, me
The stories you've heard about the snow in metro DC are not exaggerated. This was a record-setting winter of pure *awesome*. The snow smashed, blitzed, and obliterated us in awe-inspiring amounts.

The one downside to telework is that I don't get the time off if the government closes. Our agency is responsible for putting out issues no matter the circumstances, every business day, rain or shine or closed government. Now, in practical terms there was very little work to be done, being as all our material is generated by other agencies, but nevertheless during the blizzards I was parked at home with my laptop on and going for nine hours a day, in case any emergencies or necessities arose.

Since then life has been sliding downhill pretty badly. I've been utterly overwhelmed at work, since I have the misfortune of being issue editor for the issue everyone plowed documents into to make up for that missing week. Besides being so busy at work I haven't a moment to myself (I'm only taking time to write this since no one ELSE is doing a damn thing around here), I ended up stuck here 45 extra minutes on Friday because a coworker of mine took a ten minute task and turned it into 3.5 hours of screaming incompetence. I speak literally.

Poor [livejournal.com profile] tigerphoenix got nailed by the flu *bad*. Frequent fevers, vomiting, total lethargy, the works. This has been a particularly miserable weekend for both of us.

I've been told that an accelerated 8-hour anger management class will satisfy the requirements of my (obligatory cursing and ranting about injustice here) sentence, so that's something; I've been tentatively slotted for March 13, which is much better than somehow trying to find a place I could arrive at on time for two hours a night for god knows how many weeks. The downside: $650. Burn.

In other shitass news, a collection agency is hounding me for $40 I allegedly owe Verizon. Said bill dates from March 2008, *seven months* after I'd shut off the service, which they've apparently sat on for two YEARS before siccing a collection agency on me. That things like this are even permitted is evidence of just how stupid our society is.

I hope someday soon to get another game report up. I'm short several.
