In reference to the country to the south, which was making aggressive noises on my PC's realm's southern border:

"I thought they'd fallen to the evil [to the north]."
"No, they did something else. You're actually keeping them from falling."
Brief look of disgust. "I am going to build a pipethrough my lands to theirs."
The GM speaks 'in character.' "'Sir, there's a pipe coming from the lands to the north, and zombies are coming out of it!'"
"And then I'll deploy my armies around it. 'Okay, everyone bang on the pipes, so the zombies are extra-pissed when they reach the other side!'"
"'Hrrrrr, angry deaf zombie wants BRAINS!'"

I picked up The World Ends With You, and my thoughts on it after a morning-commute's worth of play are: fun and pretty interesting system, nifty game and character designs (though the KH:CoM roots show, this isn't a bad thing), what the hell was their music budget for this game?!?! Seriously, the music is *awesome*. I'm entirely tempted to go buy the soundtrack from iTunes just on that brief play. Okay, I can see that it might annoy people who don't like j-pop/electronica/whatever the hell these styles are, but man, it's nice.

Of course, I may be spoiled, since I've mostly been playing remakes of late -- Disgaea took a hit in the music department, which is understandable, since it's a PS2 to DS conversion, and Chrono Trigger DS sounds nigh-identical to its SNES counterpart. Final Fantasy IV's redone soundtrack is wonderful, though. They basically took the original music and advanced it about two generations of sound; the music is the same, but the quality is as stepped up as the graphics are, so it's a nostalgia trip and a huge improvement all at once.
