I got my hands on Mahai Kingdom, Nippon Ichi's latest release (for those of you counting, the fifth, following La Pucelle Tactics, Disgaea, Phantom Brave, and Altier Iris: Eternal Mana). And let me tell you... the game is hilarious.
The game is a mixture of Disgaea's humor and style, with the best combat aspects of Phantom Brave. The main character is a book. (Yes, really.) He can't move. He can't do anything. All he can do is talk, and summon his minions to the battlefield. ("Go forth, my battle monkeys! Do my bidding and bust a cap!") It's even funnier than it sounds, but it's STILL a good story.
The English voice acting is also good, for you typical naysayers, although Pram the Oracle sounds entirely too much like Etna. Lord Zetta, the aforementioned main character, is just an egomaniacal trip to listen to. ("I'm one badass freakin' Overlord!") He even has the Overlord's laugh.
I haven't gotten very far, but I'm loving it already.
