My DSL connection is incredible pathetic at this point in time.

I think it's a result of the upgrades they made to the system, ironically. The e-mail Housing sent me regarding the situation indicated that they're "ironing out the bumps." Which seems to translate to me having an actual connection to the internet about once every, oh, ten minutes or so?

In all seriousness that IS what it boils down to. I send a chunk of IMs to someone; ten minutes later, I recieve a chunk back all at the same time. I check e-mail, and the connection dies midway through the process. God help me if I want to sign on to AOL -- the connectivity times are too brief to ever succeed.

It's very frustrating. Compunding the problem is the fact that I can't call and complain until I actually hook up the DSL modem in our apartment and hook our lines to it, and I can't do THAT until my other roommate happens to be out of the apartment. So this may take a while.

HOPEfully, the kinks will be ironed out very soon, and my access will proceed with competent and capable DSL speeds rather than the 14.4 modem speeds this service has previously exhibited. But I doubt that, since Verizon was responsible for one of the upgrades, and I've realized through many long and painful weeks that Verizon is possibly the most self-centered, lazy, and altogether incompetent business I have ever had the misfortune of being distantly connected to. (Or not, as the case may be.)

So Dragon's DSL woes continue to mount, and so does his frustration. But as soon as I get this all together on MY end, I'm letting out an unholy volume of complaint until someone does their damn job competently and fixes the damn DSL that was supposed to be working almost two damn months ago now.
