This one is for role-players...
Okay, so for those of you who don't know, I'm a proud and happy member of the Camarilla, White Wolf's official fan club. I run my chapter's Werewolf: The Apocalypse live action game (for a month and a half more).

So, all that being said, I've spent the past three days arguing with the Specialist in charge of the Stargazer Tribe and the #4 member of the Camarilla about rules. The Stargazer Tribe has a special martial art called Kailindo, which they use for nifty purposes. The GSA: Stargazers decided to introduce Kailindo rules for our international game.

He went way the hell overboard. Now we've got a huge backlash brewing. The debate has suddenly taken four sides:

The GSA: Nifty Powers! He has yet to compromise on his original power description, which is extensive and ludicrous. He's simply making it impossible to get unless you're a Stargazer. Argh.

Member #4: In favor of a much simpler system -- but one virtually impossible to get. Argh.

Miscellaneous: In favor of *no* powers, because it would "disrupt game balance." Argh.

Me: In favor of *very* simple powers, with certain requirements to make them difficult to get, but not game-breaking or impossible.

The debate has been raging for three days, without any side backing down or compromising. #4 and to the lesser extent the GSA are pretty much ignoring me... Argh. This gives me a headache.

WHY AM I THE ONLY SMART PERSON?!

I'm beginning to think I'm not a very good role-player.

The signs have been building since forever. I could never build an engaging and entertaining SL, or even a character, since forever. My best characters have been laughed at and ignored; the plots that I found most interesting have been dismissed offhand by others.

I must not be very engaging. I don't know what to do.

::sigh::
